FRIDAY PREVIEW: APR 27th, 2012
Three of last weeks new movies took some of the top spots for the weekend. Here are the results:
First Place: Think Like A Man ($33.6 Million)
Second Place: The Lucky One ($22.5 Million)
Third Place: The Hunger Games ($14.7 Million)
Fourth Place: Chimpanzee ($10.7 Million)
Fifth Place: The Three Stooges ($9.8 Million)
Think Like a Man somehow took the top spot, despite it's terrible reviews and absolute crap plot. No surprises along the rest of the board, The Lucky One drew in some girls, as did The Hunger Games. Chimpanzee had the parents with their kids, and The Three Stooges had everyone who's time is not valuable.

FRIDAY PREVIEW: APR 20th, 2012
What a well deserved hiatus from Friday Previews. But here we are, back to the grind. Let's take a look at last friday's big ones...
First Place: The Hunger Games ($21.1 Million)
Second Place: The Three Stooges ($17 Million)
Third Place: The Cabin in the Woods ($14.7 Million)
Fourth Place: Titanic 3D ($11.9 Million)
Fifth Place: American Reunion ($10.5 Million)
No surprises in this department. The Hunger Games remains on top as it probably deserves, followed somewhat closely by The Three Stooges, which it probably doesn't deserve. The Cabin in the Woods didn't do nearly as well as it should, based on the massive majority of positive reviews it's gotten for revamping the slasher pic. Titanic 3D and American Reunion round out the bunch, both based on or actually being previous material.
What does Hollywood have in store for us this week? Hit the jump to find out!
REVIEW: THE RAID
It's so insane that it might just work.
I first saw the trailer for The Raid roughly a year ago, and my jaw dropped for the second time in my memory for what I had just seen. For anyone wondering what the other time was, think back to Inception, and more specifically, the rotating hallway. This trailer was absolute perfection in my mind, and I almost didn't want to see the film out of the fear that it wouldn't live up to my incredibly high expectations. The trailer itself was proof enough that this film could be immortalized in action movie history, but of course, the proof is in the pudding...

FRIDAY PREVIEW: MAR 23rd, 2012
As always, let's check out which movies made the most mulah last weekend...
First Place: 21 Jump Street ($36.3 Million)
Second Place: The Lorax ($22.8 Million)Third Place: John Carter ($13.6 Million)
Fourth Place: Project X ($4 Million)
Fifth Place: Act of Valor ($3.7 Million)As expected, 21 Jump Street took the gold, knocking everything else down a position for the week. Silent House was dropped from the list, and amazingly, Act of Valor hangs on for dear life. John Carter is doing much worse than expected, not really living up to it's 'first blockbuster of 2012' name that Disney branded it with.
This week gives way to five new flicks, only one of which will actually have a wide release (probably because nothing else stands a chance this weekend). Continue reading to see the new releases for the weekend of March 23rd, 2012....
REVIEW: JOHN CARTER
There is a lot of bad press floating around right now about John Carter, which is unfortunate (Not to mention all of the terrible marketing on Disney's part). This film simply isn't getting the love it deserves. John Carter (aka The Princess of Mars), was written in 1912 by Edgar Rice Burroughs. It was the first science fiction epic ever written, and at it's time it was visionary. The story is celebrating it's 100 year anniversary this year. Most modern science fiction is based in some respect on John Carter. Flash Gordon, Star Wars, Planet of the Apes, Avatar, Cowboys and Aliens all have taken elements from John Carter. If you are a fan of science fiction or a self proclaimed nerd like myself you need to go see this movie, period.
